One of the best ways is to install the best car seat covers.

These accessories are specially designed to provide you with an amazing way to protect your car seat from direct contact with users thereby increasing its lifespan in good condition. Interestingly, most seats cover ships with beautiful and luxurious designs that are even more appealing compared to the covers that came with your vehicle. This is the reason why car seat covers are ideal for individuals who are looking to change the appearance of old car seat covers.

A beautiful seat cover will instantly convert the interior of an old car to a luxurious one or add beauty to your already good looking vehicle. If you decide to purchase a seat cover for your car, you will find that it is available in different sizes thereby allowing you to go for the one that best fits your vehicle.

Types of Car Seat Covers

There are different types of car seat covers but the most popular ones are the universal, custom fit and semi-custom fit car seat covers. All these types of car seat covers, even though they are of different design, you should note that they offer the same function. The best one for you will be dependent on your needs and preferences. Read on for more information.

Universal Seat Covers

The universal auto seat cover is one of the most famous seat covers among vehicle owners. It is designed to fit all types of car seats since it is usually adjustable. This is believed to be the reason why universal car seat cover is widely used across the globe. Another reason why this type of car seat covers are popular is that they are easy to install and uninstall. Universal car seat covers are also offered at an affordable price compared to other types.

Custom Fit Car Seat Covers

The custom fit car seat cover is another popular type of these accessories. This type is also preferred by some categories of vehicle owners. It is available in different shapes and sizes tailored to fit the specific needs of buyers. Unlike universal car seat covers, each variant of the custom fit car seat cover is designed to cater to the needs of specific vehicles hence the reason why it is referred to as custom-fit covers.

It also comes with matching colors of your vehicle’s interior. Custom fit car seat covers are either bucket-fitted skin fitted, or normal fitted. Custom fit seat covers are relatively pricey compared to the universal fit variants.

Semi-Custom Fit Car Seat Covers

The semi-custom fit car seat cover is just like the custom fit variant with only a few differences. It allows users to customize the seat cover to fit the interior of their vehicle. Also, it is available in semi bucket fitted and normal fit options. The semi-custom fit car seat cover is designed to fit a particular car model as well as others with a similar design. It is cheaper compared to custom fit seat covers.

Benefits of Car Seat Covers

Automotive Seat Cover Installation Service near Wichita KS:

Extra Protection

One of the benefits of car seat covers is that it offers additional protection to your car seat from substances that may contribute to its rapid wear and tear. This is the reason why it is advised for individuals who have kids and pets to install car seat covers. It will go a long way to enhance the lifespan of the car seat even amidst the regular mess made by kids and pets. Car seat covers will also protect your seat from direct UV rays that may cause rapid fading.

Enhanced Comfort

Car seats cover ships with different amazing features, all of which are aimed towards enhancing your comfort with the accessories. You will find that some car seats cover the ship with massage or heating functionality. Heated seat covers will do a lot to keep you comfy on winter days while massage seats will provide you with the desired comfort from time to time. This is in addition to protecting your car seat from direct contact.

Personalization

While you contribute only a little or even nothing to determine the appearance of the seats that ship with your vehicle, you can choose and personalize how you want your car seat cover will look. This will allow you to tweak the interior of your vehicle to suit your needs and preference.

For instance, you can choose the color of the car seat cover you want since the accessory is available in different shade and design option. You also have an option to go for the material that works best for you. Car seat covers are usually made of leather, denim, corduroy, canvas, polyester, or nylon.

Affordable

Another advantage offered by car seat covers is that they are offered at an affordable price. As opposed to replacing an old car seat or purchasing a new vehicle, you can just purchase a cover at a budget-friendly price. The latter is way cheaper compared to the former and it will provide you with a positive result within a short period of time.

Ease of Installation

When replacing your car seat, you may need to employ the services of professionals but this is not necessary when installing a car seat cover. The accessories are easy to install and you can complete the process yourself within a short period of time.

Ease of Maintenance

Car seat covers are easy to maintain since they can be removed and washed. To further make the process easy for you, some car seat covers support machine cleaning. If you decide to go for a car seat cover with an all-leather construction, you can easily clean it by wiping with a towel.

Advantages of seat covers

Automotive Seat Cover Installation Service near Wichita KS:

  • Car Seat Covers are the best way to protect the interior of any vehicle and to keep as much grime and dirt from soiling the seats
  • Car Seat Covers also add an elegant touch to the interior of any vehicle
  • Owners can install seat covers as per their style and taste.
  • Car Seat Covers help retain the value of a vehicle and keep it looking great to protect your investment.
  • Car seat covers provide extra protection to the seats from the UV beams of sun that will cause the original seat covers to fade. They also protect the seats from stains. Direct sunlight on your fabrics has a bleaching effect. Where once your seats were dark blue or black, an overdose of ultraviolet radiation will leave your seats looking purple or ashen.
  • Car Seat covers cover over existing damage/stain on original seat covers to give a good look to your color. So it’s better to install car seat covers on time to avoid original car seat covers getting damaged.
  • While getting in and out of your vehicle may seem like a harmless operation, it is, in fact, putting a lot of stress on your seats. As time passes, the strength of the leather or fabric starts to wane, so the seat covers protect the original car seat covers.

How to Install Car Seat Covers

Over time, the upholstery or leather in your vehicle can begin to wear. A great way to preserve the new look of your vehicle interior is to install car seat covers, which protect your seats from stains and other wear. These great car accessories are simple to install yourself, and they let you add your own custom style to your vehicle interior. Here are a few simple steps to follow when installing your new car seat covers.

Installing Car Seat Covers:

Remove the headrests.

If your vehicle has no headrests, skip this step. If you have headrests, you’ll be cutting holes for them in Step 4. If your car seat covers include headrest covers, you can slip those on now.

Slip the cover over the seat back.

  • Car seat covers are made to be universal, but you may have to work a bit to make sure they are snug. Wrinkled car seat covers just don’t look nice.
  • You’ll find two loops on the back of the seat cover that you can slip between the seat back and the seat itself.
  • Use a coat hanger to pull the loops from the front of the car seat cover underneath the seat.

Secure the loops and hooks.

Connect the elastic loops with the included S-hooks to hold your seat cover on snugly. If the car seat cover is too loose, you may need to adjust the length of the elastic straps by tying them off.

Mark and cut headrest holes.

Feel through the car seat cover to locate the holes that hold your headrest. Mark each hole location with a marker and make a quarter-inch cut. Align the cut parallel with the sides of the car. Doing so will help prevent the hole from widening as passengers sit down or get up.

Replace your headrests.

Slip the headrests through the holes you’ve cut in the car seat covers and press them firmly into place.

COST

How much does it cost to have seat covers installed?

Automotive Seat Cover Installation Service near Wichita KS: Aftermarket seat covers cost as little as $50 per seat for a universal-fit style or about $150 per seat for top-of-the- line custom-fit covers. We’ll show you how to order and install custom-fit seat covers. The installation is similar across makes and models. The job takes about two hours for front and rear seats.

Whether you fill your vehicle with construction materials, haul kids and grandkids around or just spill lots of coffee, you know how easy it is for factory seat covers to get grungy. If they’re beyond rescuing with an upholstery cleaner and you want to spruce up your vehicle’s interior, you have only three options: Pay a professional automotive upholsterer to reupholster your seats (well over $1,000), buy used seats from a junkyard, or buy and install seat covers yourself.

If you order custom-fit seat covers, you’ll have the option of also ordering matching armrest and headrest covers, console covers, seat back storage and map pockets.

Buy custom-fit and universal seat covers from retail and online auto parts stores, or directly from the manufacturer. We bought the custom-fit seat covers for this 2010 Subaru Outback at nwseatcovers.com. We bucked up and picked the trendy Bill Jordan Realtree AP Snow camo pattern and added headrest covers. The front seat covers cost $341 and the rears, $331. Here’s how they install.

Custom seat covers (either from the original vehicle manufacturer or, more typically, from a company specializing in seat covers) are made-to-order to fit a specific seat style in a specific year, make and model of vehicle, and can cost $200-$1,000 or more per row, depending on size, style and material. Installation by an auto upholstery shop (which can include adding batting or foam, or repairing springs if needed) can cost an additional $100-$800 or more, bringing total costs to $200-$1,800 or more per row for professional installation of custom slipcovers.

Having the car seats professionally reupholstered (not just adding slipcovers, but completely replacing the old material with a chosen fabric, adding foam or batting where needed, and repairing springs if needed) typically costs $200-$750 per seat, or about $500-$2,000 for two bucket seats and a back bench seat, depending on local rates; the size and style of the seat; the amount of repairs needed to the springs and padding; and whether the seats are reupholstered in standard cloth or vinyl, or with more expensive materials like leather or high-end synthetics.

For example, ID has a minimum price of $400 for a truck bench seat, $500 for a pair of bucket seats, $85 for a single motorcycle seat and $250 for a double motorcycle seat; but advertises a starting price of $300 for reupholstering a truck bench and back (or $150 for only the bench).

A complete professional reupholstering of a vehicle seats, side panels, sail panels (triangular), headliner, carpets and more to create a showroom interior starts at about $1,000-$4,000 for basic materials but with leather or high-end cloth it can cost $5,000-$10,000 or more, depending on the year, make and model of vehicle, and what is included.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are the seat covers made to fit my vehicle?

We offer a variety of semi-customized seat covers to fit most makes and models. Rather than by specific makes and models, our seat covers will fit your car based on specific features, such as side airbags and rear-split benches. For a complete run-down on our product features, click here, or feel free to contact one of our experienced representatives to help you pick the best seat covers for your vehicle.

Why are your seat covers so much cheaper than other seat covers on the market?

Quality seat covers don’t necessarily have to come with a hefty price tag. Our lower prices boil down to two main points: 1.) We have our own manufacturer overseas that produces all of our products directly; and 2.) our semi-customized fit allows us to save time and resources via mass production. Our cost-effective business model allows us to create a more budget-friendly option to other seat covers on the market without sacrificing quality, so we can pass the savings on to the consumer that’s you!

I have armrests on my front seats. Will your seat covers still fit?

Our seat covers are specifically designed to not interfere with armrests. Just remove the armrests when you install the seat covers, and put them back when you’re done. It’s that easy. For more detailed instructions, check out our installation instructions. Please note that at the moment, armrest covers are not included in our seat cover sets or accessory sets, but you can buy them separately here.

What is the difference between deluxe, synthetic, and exquisite leather?

Deluxe leatherette is made with a higher percentage of PU leather than synthetic leather. In other words, deluxe leatherette is closer to the real thing. Exquisite leatherette is a mix of leatherette and PVC.

I have heated seats. Will your seat covers affect this?

Our seat covers work on heated seats without a problem so you can look cool and stay cozy.

Are your seat covers machine washable?

Most of our seat covers are machine washable, except for synthetic leather covers. Those are waterproof and can be cleaned by gently wiping with a leather cleaner.

My car has side-impact airbags. Are your seat covers compatible with this?

While we do offer airbag-compatible seat covers, not all of our products have this feature. By selecting your year/make/model of your vehicle from the drop down menu in our header, you can make sure you’re looking at seat covers that will work with all the features of your seats.

My rear seat is a split bench. Are your seat covers compatible with this?

While we do offer split-bench compatible seat covers, not all of our products have this feature. By selecting your year/make/model of your vehicle from the drop down menu in our header, you can make sure you’re looking at seat covers that will work with all the features of your seats. All of our split-bench compatible seat covers are designed to work with 40/60, 50/50, and 40/20/40 split divisions and also work with fold-down cup holders, armrests, and consoles.

I have a new model vehicle. Do you have covers for it yet?

One of the perks of our business model making semi-customized seat covers is that our products can fit a large range of vehicles. Since our seat covers are compatible with features rather than year/make/model, we can offer a wider range of designs to everyone. If you’re unsure if our seat covers will fit your new vehicle, feel free to contact us so we can help you.

Are your seat covers difficult to install?

Our seat covers are fairly easy to install, but the installation may vary from model to model. Most of the front seat covers are simple slip-ons; some rear seats require removing or lifting the seats from the vehicle. We offer installation instructions here. Feel free to contact our knowledgeable customer service representatives for more information.

Are there openings/holes on the seat covers for headrests and seat belts?

In order to support more models/year/make, our seat covers don’t come with pre-cut holes on them. However, this is fairly simple. For headrest and seat belt, first, make sure the installed backrest cover is aligned and fitted completely to your satisfaction, and then all you need to do is cut two tiny bit holes on top of the backrest cover where the headrest needs to be inserted. As for the seat belt, make sure you pull out the seat belt first, and then cut a small slit from the top edge of the backrest cover and release the seat belt back into place. Don’t worry, the seat cover’s material will not rip or tear. We have installation video available here whenever you need it.
